Few things to know about new Soun of Ogbomoso, Pastor Afolabi Olaoye

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, approved the appointment of a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, as the new Soun of Ogbomoso.

The appointment was disclosed via a statement issued by the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.

Olayiwola noted that Olaoye’s appointment followed the “long-drawn processes specified under the law”.

The stool became vacant after the demise of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III on December 21, 2021, who joined his ancestors at the age of 95.
