The Federal Government has described the threat by terrorists to kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari as laughable and mere propaganda.
The abductors of the March 28 Abuja-Kaduna-bound train passengers had threatened to abduct Buhari and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The terrorists made the threat via a video released last Sunday.
However, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, while fielding questions from State House correspondents after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Abuja on Wednesday, said the threat was laughable.

“As to those who have issued threats to Mr President, I think it’s more of propaganda than anything. It’s laughable,” the minister said.
The Star had reported that the Presidential Guards Brigade was attacked on Sunday by terrorists along the Bwari-Kubwa road where a captain, lieutenant, and six soldiers were reportedly killed, while others were injured.
The terrorists were said to have laid siege to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with the intention to attack the Law School in Bwari, and other government facilities.
The convoy of Buhari, this month, was also attacked on its way to the President’s hometown, Daura, Katsina State, ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The attack on Buhari’s convoy occurred on the day the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents attacked the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in Abuja and freed over 800 inmates, including all the terrorists in detention.
