Kano State Fire Service, in collaboration with Liquified Petroleum Gas Retailers Association (LPGAR), Kano State chapter, has inspected retail gas vendors in Kano as part of efforts to ensure compliance to safety measures.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Kano Fire Service Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi, the inspection, which was conducted under Fire Prevention Department was aimed at ensuring business and public safety.

The Kano State Director of LPGAR, Alh Hassan Ahmad Muhammad, said the members of the association were cooperative and would not relent in fishing out unregistered vendors in the state.

“Today being Thursday 23/06/2022 state fire service in collaboration with Liquified Petroleum Gas retailers Association (LPGAR), under the leader ship of Director, Alhaji Hassan Ahmad Muhammad, has continued the inspection of Gas vendor’s within the state.

“The essence of the inspection is to ensure proper safety in the business,” the statement partly read.

Kano State has recently been witnessing upsurge of fire incidents with a number of the cases attributed to gas vending businesses.

This inspection comes as the emergency organisation has also been trying to apply proactive measures in tackling the menace.
