The Federal Government is set to rename the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, disclosed this when she appeared before the Senate Committee on Finance.
Ahmed stated that the with the renaming of the FIRS, the Service Executive Chairman would be referred to as Commissioner-General.

Other provisions are the reorganisation of the FIRS Board by separating the executive management.
However, the renaming of the FIRS will be determined by the passage of the proposed amendment to the Finance Act by the National Assembly.
