The former Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Lateef Akanni Hussein, is dead.
According to a statement on the official Facebook page of LASU in the early hours of Monday, Hussein died after a brief illness on Sunday evening at the age of 75.
Hussein, a Professor of Physics, was the sixth Vice-Chancellor of LASU.
He served between 2005 and 2011.
The statement noted that Hussein will be buried on Monday according to Islamic rites.
