A fuel tanker exploded on Thursday on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after it had a collision with two buses.
It was gathered that the fuel tanker exploded near Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries’ camp, popularly called Prayer City, along the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident was confirmed by the Ogun Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Ahmed Umar.
“A multiple crash involving a tanker and two other vehicles occurred around a worship centre on the outward section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday,” he said.

Umar, however, enjoined motorists to drive cautiously and remain calm until the fire is extinguished.
He further assured that the FRSC personnel and other agencies were on ground to contain the fire.

The inferno, which was confirmed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), occurred at a Mobil Petrol Station about 1p.m.
The Agency disclosed that the fire gutted the residential building located at No. 71, Agege Motor Road, Alakara in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
