Full list: Lawan, Umahi, Akpabio listed among APC’s senatorial candidates

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has submitted the names of its senatorial candidates for the 2023 general election to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Star had reported that Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, was listed as the APC candidate for Yobe North senatorial district despite the refusal of Bashir Machina, who won the party’s primaries for the senatorial district, to withdraw from the race.

Machina, who insisted that he would not step down for Lawan since he got the votes of delegates in an unopposed election, however, vowed to seek legal redress over the attempt to steal his mandate.

Others listed among the APC senatorial candidates for the 2023 general election include the party’s former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole; Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State; former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akapbio; among others.
