Fire, in the early hours of Monday, gutted a building in the Dakata area of Kano State.
The inferno was disclosed via a statement issued by the Kano State Fire Service spokesperson, Saminu Abdullahi, on Monday.
Abdullahi stated that the fire, which occurred at about 7 am on Monday, was later put out by the operatives of the agency.
He said: “Today being Monday, 20th June 2022, our formation received an emergency call at about 07:33 am from Musa Auwalu reported an outbreak of fire at Dakata by Police Station Nassarawa local government area.
“Our fire fighters crew from Bompai fire station, arrived at the scene of the incident by 07:35 am, and found that, a building of one floor of about 100 X 100ft use as a Dwelling House, 1 room, 1 parlour from the upper floor well alight.

“While 1 Kitchen, 1 Toilet and 1 Corridor from the upper floor slightly alight.”
Abdullahi further attributed the cause of the fire to gas cylinder leakage.
He added: “The cause of the incident is gas leckage and fire started from the kitchen. With good effort of our men, fire become under control, and successfully saved the ground floor block and near by structures.”
