Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has directed the immediate payment of all outstanding debts accrued from 2022 to the Kaduna Electric Company to enable the restoration of power supply to the Kafanchan and Kaduna campuses of the Kaduna State University (KASU).

On receipt of reports on the lingering power outage in both campuses, Sani directed the Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, to investigate the cause of the the blackout in the university campuses.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Shehu, who made this known in a statement on Saturday, said Sani, following the findings and recommendations of the commissioner, directed that all outstanding debts from 2022 be paid to ensure that power supply is restored to both campuses.

“Education is one of the major priorities of Governor Uba Sani’s administration, and the Governor has given assurances that interventions and initiatives will continue to be implemented to ameliorate the challenges faced by students in all state-owned tertiary institutions,” Shehu added.
