The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

The distribution process commenced at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Benin, the Edo State capital, on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

The election materials were inspected by representatives of various political parties, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), and security agencies before dispatch.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Onuoha Anugbum, said the distribution was part of efforts to ensure hitch-free conduct of Saturday’s election.
