Gunmen have killed no fewer than three policemen who were among an advance security team of Delta State Governor and the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
It was gathered that the policemen from the department of Explosive Ordinance Device, (EoD), Delta State Police Command, were killed in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State on Friday while going to Abia State.
The three deceased police officers were Inspectors Lucky Aleh, Celestine Nwadiokwu, and Jude Obuh.

Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, said: “We got distress calls and we rushed to the scene of the incident.
“The policemen who were killed are from the Delta State Command and were on transit as at the time of the incident.
“But I can assure you that the Anambra State Commissioner of Police is very poised to bring to book the criminals behind the dastardly act.”
