Gunmen attack Osun Labour Party guber candidate’s residence

Unknown gunmen, in the early hours of Monday, attacked the residence of the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Osun State, Hon. Lasun Yusuff, in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

The Osun State gubernatorial election has been slated for July 16, 2022.

It was gathered that Yusuff and his family members were in the house for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration when the building was attacked by the gunmen.

The attack was confirmed by the media aide to the Osun Labour Party governorship candidate, Wole Oladimeji, on Monday.

Oladimeji disclosed that the assailants shot at the upper floor of the storey building where bedrooms are and shattered the aluminium windows.

He added that no one was injured in the attack.

“It is true. My principal is already working on informing security agents of the development. He was in the house with members of his family. But no one was injured.

“They fired into the upper floor of the storey building where bedrooms are because they could not gain entrance into the building,” Oladimeji stated.

Yusuff, who is a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was present at the governorship debate organised by Channels Television on Sunday night.
