Gunmen have abducted two female students of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
It was gathered that one of the students is in the Department of Biology Education while details of the other student have yet to be ascertained.
The institution is a federal university named after the late minority rights activist, Joseph Tarka, by former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
A source in the university disclosed that a man drove into the campus on Saturday, May 25, 2024, picked the students and while driving into the North Bank town, picked another lady before they were attacked.
The source added that he initially thought it was armed robbery until the kidnappers contacted the family of the students.
