Usman stated that the gunmen were yet to contact the family of the victims for ransom, adding that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction.

The police spokesperson said the arrested suspects have since been providing useful information to the police.

He added that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims and arrest other suspects.

The abduction of the monarch’s wives and son is coming barely three weeks after two wives and five children of the chief of Mutum biyu in the Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State were kidnapped and killed while one of the children escaped.
