Gunmen kill APC LG chairman in Kebbi

Gunmen have killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Bako Bala.

It was gathered that the APC chairman was killed after he was abducted by the gunmen.

His killing was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the Kebbi Governor on Television and Radio, Zaidu Bala, on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Zaidu disclosed that the gunmen kidnapped Bala in his hometown, shot him, and abandoned him in a pool of his blood on Wednesday, October 2.

He added that Bala was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, where he was confirmed dead.

Meanwhile, bandits have reportedly abducted a person at Matseri village in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The bandits were also said to have shot a young man who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi.

The Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, has however yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
