Gunmen kill man in Ogun hotel

Gunmen have killed a man identified as Gideon Ebukwe at Ok Winners Hotel in Igbosoro, Igode, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, said the man was killed at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Odutola a group of five unidentified armed men arrived at Ok Winners Hotel in Igbosoro and attacked a guest, Ebukwe, whose address was unknown.

The police spokesperson stated: “At the time of the attack, the hotel staff, mostly women, were locked in another room, while the assailants proceeded directly to the guest’s room.

“In an attempt to escape, the guest broke through the ceiling but was chased and shot dead, and his belongings were taken.

“Upon receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer led detectives to the scene. No arrest has been made, and the body was transported to Jas Medical Mortuary in Ogijo.”

Odutola noted that an investigation had commenced to unravel the nature of the killing, if it was cult related.

She added that the case would be transferred to the Police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, for a more discreet investigation.
