Gunmen raze Reps member’s house in Anambra

Gunmen have set ablaze the house of the member of the House of Representatives representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in Anambra State, Hon. Pascal Agbordike.

It was gathered that the incident occurred in the Agbordike compound in Mbosi town in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Confirming the incident, the lawmaker said the palatial bungalow was completely burnt and nothing was rescued.

He said he was not sure of who the assailants, calling on the police and other security agencies to investigate the incident.

Agbordike, who is the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly, said: “I am homeless, my building was completely burnt in the village, and nothing was rescued.

“I got a call at about 1 am this morning that my house was under by armed hoodlums, they gained access to the compound and burnt everything down while shooting indiscriminately.

“I lost everything in that house, it has five bedrooms and four living rooms, all my documents are lost in that inferno.”

The incident was also confirmed by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga.
