The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has mourned the death of its former Chairman Ibrahim Lamorde.
The Star had reported that Lamorde died at the weekend in Egypt where he had gone for medical treatment.
The former EFCC boss died at the age of 61.
Speaking on his demise, the anti-graft agency, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, said Lamorde served the country actively.
Oyewale noted that the EFCC received the news of Morde’s death with shock.
He stated: “Lamorde, pioneer Director of Operations and third substantive Chairman of the EFCC between February 15, 2012, and November 9, 2015, served the nation actively as a focused and gallant anti-graft fighter.
