The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Osun governorship election, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the poll.
Adeleke polled 403,371 votes, while the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 375,027 votes.
The candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Kehinde Atanda, came third with 10,104 votes, while Lasun Yusuff of the Labour Party garnered 2729 votes.
The PDP governorship candidate won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas in the gubernatorial election, while Oyetola won the remaining 13 LGAs.
