Former President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of the ex-Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu.
Onu, a former governor of Abia State, died at the age of 72 on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Onu served as a minister under the administration of Buhari.

The former president, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, described Onu as “an intellectual giant”.
Buhari added that Nigeria lost “one of its most outstanding scientific minds and intellectuals” with the death of the former chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), a party that once fielded him as a presidential candidate.
“My heart goes out to his family, the government and people of Abia State, and the country at large. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
