The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded the judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed President Bola Tinubu as the validly elected president of Nigeria.
Congratulating Tinubu on the victory, the APC said the judgement delivered on Thursday, October 26, 2023, would put an end to the lingering misgivings about the 2023 presidential election.
The ruling party added that the verdict of the Supreme Court underscores the independence and vibrancy of the Nigerian judiciary.
The apex court had dismissed the appeals of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) for lacking merit, affirming Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

Speaking of the judgement, the APC, in a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said: “This epochal judgement underscores the independence and vibrancy of the Nigerian judiciary as an indispensable feature of our democracy.
“It is our hope that this judgement will put to rest all lingering misgivings about the 2023 presidential election so that we may all now concentrate on working collaboratively across party lines on behalf of our people.
“We heartily congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, and the Nigerian people on this important landmark victory for our democracy.”
