Kaduna gov appoints ex-Daily Trust Editor Ibrahim Musa as spokesperson

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has appointed a former Editor of Daily Trust Newspaper, Ibrahim Musa, as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

Musa’s announcement was announced in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Fabian Okoye, on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Until his appointment as the CPS, Musa was a Media Consultant to Governor Sani.

He served as a Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in the administration of the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

Musa has over 30 years of experience in various news organisations, culminating in his appointment as the pioneer Editor of Blueprint Weekend Newspaper in 2017.

The new CPS started his working career as a Press Review Officer in Government House, Bauchi State in 1991.

He later joined Hotline News Magazine in 1993 and rose to the position of Deputy Editor. He had a short stint with The Sentinel Magazine, before joining the New Nigerian Newspapers, where he spent 10 years. At the New Nigerian, he was the Political Editor and a member of the Editorial Board.

While on a Leave of Absence, Ibraheem Musa served in the National Assembly as a Legislative Aide.

In 2007, Musa was appointed the Political Editor of the Daily Trust Newspaper. After a year, he became the Kaduna Bureau Chief of the newspaper.

In 2011, he left for the Blueprint Newspaper as Kaduna Bureau Chief. In 2017, he was appointed the Editor of Blueprint Weekend.

Musa was the Deputy Director of Strategic Communication of the Kaduna State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Team in 2019.

In the 2023 campaign, he was the Director of Strategic Communication and Spokesman of the APC Campaign Team.
