Kannywood members in Kano State have joined the Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general election.
The Director-General of APC Presidential Campaign Council and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, made this known via a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Dr Makut Macham.
He said their inclusion was part of efforts at deepening the participation of creative artists from the northern zone in the campaigns.
Lalong stated that the approval was the outcome of the recent visit of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to Kano, where he met members of the group.

Lalong tasked the group to mobilise and enlighten their large followership on Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ message and his manifesto to enhance his massive voting in the 2023 general election.
Kannywood has Abdul-Mahmud Amart as Director, Ismail Afakallah as Deputy Director and Sani Mu’azu as Secretary, with other leaders heading different divisions.
