Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has declared Wednesday, October 4, 2023, as a public holiday to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Dantiye, on Wednesday.
Dantiye quoted Governor Yusuf as urging the people of Kano State to use the occasion to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet and imbibe them in their daily affairs.

The governor also enjoined the people to pray fervently for peace and prosperity to reign in the state and Nigeria at large.
“We pray to Allah to see us through this tough period and bless us with bumper harvest in this rainy season and the coming dry farming season,” he added.
