The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State chapter of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Alhaji Aminu Gurgu Mai Filo, has dumped the party for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Mai Filo told newsmen in Kano that he has resigned from his position as the PRO of the PRP to support the senatorial bid of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau and the presidential ambition of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He said: “We have come to support Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s re-election bid into the senate and God willing, to support Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s election as president.”
He further called on Nigerians to embrace the move to salvage the country from various challenges.
According to him, joining the party by the two former Kano governors was a clear sign of good omen for Kano and Nigeria.

Senator Shekarau personally welcome the decampees into the party at his Mundubawa residence in Kano on Sunday.
The NNPP, joined by Senator Kwankwaso a few months ago has taken over the second powerful party in Kano following mass defection into the party by Kano political heavyweights including former governor and senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau.
Sen. Kwankwaso, who is the national leader and presidential candidate of the party, told newsmen earlier that they welcome all and sundry into the party.
The party is set to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as it has become a strong force to reckon with in Kano politics.
