The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State says it has introduced new undergraduate programmes, including BSc in Mass Communication, LL.B Law, and Health Science, among others.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu-Bichi, made this known while briefing journalists in Dutsinma on Thursday, November 30.
Hamisu-Bichi briefed newsmen as part of preparations for their 7th and 8th combined convocation scheduled for Saturday, December 2.
According to him, other courses introduced include B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering, B.Sc International Relations and Diplomacy, and B.URP Urban and Regional Planning.
Others are B.Sc Applied Geophysics, B.Tech. Entrepreneurship, and B.Tech. Textile Design Technology, among others.
The Vice-Chancellor, therefore, said candidates interested in studying mass communication and other courses in the university are now free to apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examination (JAMB).

Hamisu-Bichi stated that when he assumed duty as the VC, there were only three Faculties, with 20 programmes, while out of them, only three had accreditation.
He added that the university now has 13 faculties, with over 100 accredited programmes, saying: “It’s a great achievement in three years.”
According to Hamisu-Bichi, within the period he has been the Vice-Chancellor, a lot of structures were built, especially the Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Law, and Natural Resources.
“We are now in the process of constructing a Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts, and also that of Environment.
“And for the first time in the history of the university, we used international revenue to build three female hostels,” he added.
Hamisu-Bichi said despite the successes recorded during his leadership, there were still some challenges, especially the lack of funds.
He also lamented that insecurity in the area was part of the challenges he has been facing, adding: “We are doing everything possible to ensure a safer environment.”
