The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) in the Malete area of the state has disabled the portal of a male student over his alleged involvement in a skit where he was seen making inappropriate contact with females.
The KWASU spokesperson, Dr Saeedat Aliyu, made this known via a statement on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Aliyu noted that the disabling of the portal was a first-line punitive measure, pending the outcome of an investigation by the Student Disciplinary Committee.
Aliyu disclosed that the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jimoh Shaykh-Luqman, gave the directive of disabling the student’s portal.

She added that skits were not a reflection of the institution’s values and didn’t reflect the ethical orientation of the students.
The university spokesperson stated: “KWASU is an institution that prides itself on producing the total graduate, both in character and in learning, and has zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline.
“We wish to reiterate that KWASU holds in high esteem the values of decency that all religions promote and will not condone any act that can joepardise this value.”
