The All Progressives Congress (APC) has donated N100 million to support the victims of the Maiduguri Monday Market in Borno State.
The market, said to be the largest in the North-East, was razed on Sunday morning following an intense fire outbreak.
Presenting a cheque of N100 million to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, in Maiduguri on Friday, the APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, said: “The party (APC) leadership will stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this trying time, Your Excellency.

“We are therefore donating N100 million to support you in providing relief to the victims of the unfortunate fire incident that happened on Sunday.”
Governor Zulum expressed his gratitude to Adamu and his delegation for their visit to Borno and for empathising with the people.
“Mr Chairman, I wish to, from the bottom of my heart, convey our deepest appreciation for this visit. We are indeed very grateful for your kind gesture of donating N100 million to the victims. This amount will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the victims,” the governor said.
He, however, assured judicious utilisation of all funds donated in cushioning the hardship faced by victims of the Monday Market inferno.
The APC chairman was accompanied by the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari; the Special Adviser on Policy, Amb. Usman Sarki; the Special Adviser on Protocol and Programme, Amb. Habib Habu; and the Special Adviser on Media, Nata’ala Keffi.
