A 27-year-old man, Afeez Ayeteru, has been paraded by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly beheading an 80-year-old woman, identified simply as Aduke, in the Ado-Odo/Ota area of the state.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, paraded Ayeteru alongside 24 other suspected criminals in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The police commissioner said the command received a distress call from the neighbour of the 80-year-old woman and rushed to the scene where they arrested the suspect while he attempted to flee.
Ogunlowo also paraded 45-year-old twin brothers, Taiwo and Kehinde Yemitan, who allegedly killed one Darasimi, a female, and dismembered her body parts for rituals.
Ogunlowo noted that the incident occurred in the Lafenwa area of Abeokuta, saying the suspects confessed to the crime.
He stated that the suspects would face charges in court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The police commissioner revealed that other suspects were arrested for offences which included kidnapping, murder, and cultism among others.
Ogunlowo said all the suspects were arrested within the last three weeks.
Ogunlowo urged the people of Ogun State to continue providing timely information to aid the efforts of the police in preventing and addressing criminal activities in the state.
He issued a stem warning to criminals in Ogun State, saying the police were ready to flush them out.
“We will not hesitate to take action against those who refuse to comply,” he said.
Speaking with newsmen, one of the twin brothers, Taiwo, confessed to the crime.
He said the victim was his friend, adding that she was the first person he killed as he used to sell human parts killed by other organ harvesters.
