A man has allegedly stabbed his nephew to death with a broken bottle and fled the home in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known in a statement on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Hundeyin said the mother of the fleeing suspect reported the incident to the police at about 7 a.m. on Monday.
Hundeyin said the woman reported that her son (the suspect) and his nephew had a misunderstanding over an undisclosed matter.
The police spokesperson stated that the report revealed that the misunderstanding resulted in a physical confrontation, as the suspect allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed his nephew on the left side of his chest.

He said: “The victim was rushed to a private hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“A team of detectives was immediately mobilised to the scene and photographs were taken.
“However, the family declined autopsy, but opted to bury the deceased according to Islamic rites.”
Hundeyin further stated that there were efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect, adding that an investigation was ongoing.
