The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Father Ejike Mbaka, on Wednesday, returned to the church ground in Enugu State after months of suspension.

Mbaka was received by scores of supporters who marched alongside a vehicle conveying him to the Adoration ground in Umuchigbo Nike, Enugu.

The jubilant residents were excited as some were dancing along the road on Wednesday.

The Star had reported that Mbaka was ordered by the ministry in October 2022 to go to a monastery for deep prayers to ask God for proper directions over his calling which he made controversial.

The Enugu Catholic Diocese also appointed Rev Fr Anthony Amadi to replace the controversial cleric as the director of the Adoration Ministry.

The Catholic Diocese had said the teachings and utterances of the cleric at the Catholic Ministry were not consistent with the teachings and faith of the church.

This came after Mbaka called the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, a stingy man, and directed his followers not to vote for the former governor of Anambra State in the 2023 general election.

The cleric, during a prayer service at the church, said Obi was a man without a generous spirit, saying “a gum-holder” would not be accepted as a president of the country.

Mbaka later apoligised to Obi and prayed that the LP presidential candidate will succeed in his political career.

The cleric stressed that his intention was not to malign Obi’s image, adding that he is not a member of any political party.
