Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu
Civil servants have been charged to align themselves with the new philosophy of the civil service rules fashioned to produce the best out of the Nigerian official workforce.
The Minister for Power, Adebayo Adelabu, made the call at the inauguration of the ministry’s Performance Management System (PMS) in Abuja on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Adelabu, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mamman Mahmuda, said civil servants have the duty and responsibility of ensuring that government policies and programmes are faithfully and effectively implemented so that such policies and programmes meet the needs and the expectations of the people.
The minister said: “This programme came into existence some few years back and it is designed to ensure that we meet certain requirements in the performance and discharge of our duties as civil servants.

“The Head of Service of the Federation must be commended in this endeavour and we must all submit ourselves to the letters of this schedule, designed to get the best out of us in the discharge of our services to our fatherland.
“I am happy and delighted to inaugurate the chapter of the PMS of our ministry. Today (Thursday) is indeed historic and we must put all the structures needed for it to function and work well”.
He added that the PMS provides work schedule, sets targets, provides ongoing support for employees, and measures expectations.
