Ministerial nominee slumps during screening

A ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, Balarabe Lawal, collapsed during the screening exercise on Wednesday.

Lawal, who served as Secretary to the Kaduna State Government during the Governor Nasir El-Rufai administration, was presented to replace the former governor.

As soon as the nominee completed reciting his profile, he collapsed.

It was at a point when one of the senators from his Kaduna State was about to ask him the first question.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio who was presiding immediately called for water and sugar to be administered on him.

A panicked Akpabio also called for Dr. Wale to come to the aid of the nominee.
