Mohbad: Singer Skales, Delta Police PRO clash on Twitter

Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has been engaged in a clash with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Skales took to his X account on Thursday, September 14, 2023, sharing his stance on the level of insecurity in Nigeria, following the death of his late colleague, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as Mohbad.

Speaking on a series of videos shared on X showing alleged attacks on Mohbad, the singer tweeted: “Police no Dey this country?”

Responding, Edafe said: “Twitter is not a police station! Twitter is not a police station!! Twitter is not a police station!!! May his soul rest in peace, Amen.”

Reacting to Edafe’s response, the ‘Shake Body’ crooner slammed the police spokesperson, calling Edafe and the Nigeria Police Force unprintable names.

“My friend, will you shut up? …,” he wrote.

Edafe further reacted, saying: “Is like Skales wants to use me to revive his music career. Well, I am too busy for that.

“As I said if he feels there is a matter to be investigated, he can on behalf of the family make an official complaint at the police station.”

Responding, Skales wrote: “See the f**l wey come reply me wey say him busy … lol .. small sense you no get … oya enjoy the clout f**lish guy.”

The Star had reported that Mohbad died in Lagos on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.

Mohbad, who was laid to rest in the Ikorodu area of Lagos on Wednesday, in February 2022, alleged that his former label boss, Naira Marley, and other members of the Marlian group were after his life.

He made the allegation in an Instagram live video after his release from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) custody.

The popular singer known for his single hit, ‘Feel Good’, was earlier arrested alongside another musician, Zinoleesky, and four others with illicit drugs in a dawn raid on their apartment in Lagos.

The NDLEA had said that some qualities of cannabis and Molly were found with Mohbad and Zinoleesky and four others in their residence and car.

However, the popular singer, who took to Instagram after his release, said Naira Marley and other members of the Marlian group should be held responsible if anything unpleasant happens to him.
