NAF seeks EFCC’s collaboration to tackle corruption at airports

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sought a collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in tackling economic and financial crimes at airports across the country.

The newly-posted Commandant at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, Captain B. Topman, called for the collaboration during a visit to the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC in Enugu on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

Topman, according to a statement issued by the EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, on Monday, November 6, said he visited the Command to seek improved collaboration and effective synergy between the EFCC and the NAF at airports across the country.

He said: “EFCC is very paramount to us and we have been collaborating with the Commission, even when I was in Kaduna, Kano, and Port Harcourt.

“I assisted with maximum support  to effect the arrest of individuals or suspects wanted by the Commission at the airport. Hence, my team is willing to collaborate with Enugu Zonal Command to make their airport’s operations seamless.”

Responding, the Enugu Zonal Commander of the EFCC, Aliyu Naibi, expressed satisfaction with the visit, promising that the two agencies will continue to collaborate with each other for the progress of Nigeria.

Naibi said: “I’m very happy and I commended the NAF for the services it is rendering at all times to the Commission and despite all the challenges in the country, I believe Nigeria is going to be great, and this constant interaction with each other will make our work more effective.”
