The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 400-level Marine Engineering student at the Niger Delta University, Amassoma, Bayelsa State, Kelvin Ogenedoro, for dealing in 600 grams of skunk.
The NDLEA Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this via a statement issued and made available to The Star on Sunday, April 23.
Babafemi disclosed that the 400-level student was arrested at the university’s gate in a follow-up operation following the interception of the consignment in a commercial bus along the Tombia-Amassoma Road in Bayelsa State.

Babafemi added that the NDLEA operatives acting on credible intelligence also intercepted a truck conveying 110 bags and 200 compressed blocks of Cannabis Sativa weighing 1.223 tons (1,223kg) in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Thursday, April 20.
The spokesperson of the anti-drug agency noted that the truck driver, Adekunle Olanrewaju, aged 32, and his 20-year-old assistant, Tunde Jamiu, were arrested.
Commending the anti-narcotic officers for the excellent job done, the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), charged them and their compatriots across the country to continue to raise the bar of professionalism in the daily discharge of their responsibilities.
