NDLEA arrests vigilante commander, woman for drug dealing

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested the Commander of Arewa Association Vigilantes in Edo State, Ibrahim Sani, for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs.

Babafemi revealed that the anti-narcotic officers, on Tuesday, February 20, raided a drug joint in Benin, the Edo State capital, where they arrested a 24-year-old sales girl, Jessica Destiny, and recovered assorted illicit drugs.

He said a follow-up operation on Wednesday, February 21, led to the arrest of the owner of the joint, 36-year-old Sani who is the Commander of Arewa Association Vigilantes in the area.

The NDLEA spokesman added that a 25-year-old woman, Zara Mele, was arrested with quantities of cocaine and heroin at Baga checkpoint in Borno State on Tuesday, February 20.
