NDLEA seizes UK-bound drugs in native soap, tramadol pills in women hair

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a consignment of 3.20kg skunk concealed in native black soap heading to the United Kingdom at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The consignment was seized by the NDLEA officers at the NAHCO export shed of the airport on Wednesday, June 7, while a freight agent involved in the attempt to export the illicit drug, Olowokudejo Oladele Tonyi, has been arrested.

The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this via a statement issued on Sunday, June 11.

He added that a bid to export 3,000 pills of Tramadol 225mg concealed inside women’s hair attachments to Monrovia, Liberia, by a cargo agent, Akinwale Taiwo Bolutife, through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport was also thwarted by the NDLEA operatives who arrested the suspect during the outward clearance of passengers at the departure gate of terminal 2 of the Lagos airport.
