Nigerian singer, Buju, changes stage name to BNXN

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Daniel Benson, well known as Buju, has officially changed his stage name to BNXN.

The afro-fusion singer stated that his new stage name would be pronounced as ‘Benson’.

Buju made the announcement via a video he shared on his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He, however, did not disclose the reason for the change of his stage name.

The singer captioned the video: “It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’.”

Buju, who bagged the nomination for the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category at The Headies 2019, was signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records in 2020.

He, however, failed to renew his contract after it expired in 2021.

His collaboration with Wizkid on the song, ‘Mood’, earned him a number one spot on UK Afrobeats Singles Chart.

In August 2021, he was featured on the deluxe edition of Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album alongside Canadian singer, Justin Bieber.
