Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has met with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in London, the United Kingdom.
Although the purpose of the meeting could not be immediately ascertained, it was gathered that the parley may not be unconnected with the 2023 general election.
Others at the meeting included Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia).
Also in attendance were former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke; among others.
This is coming barely three days after Wike met with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, in London to woo the governor to his camp ahead of the 2023 elections.
The Star had reported that some APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors also attended the meeting.
Last Monday, Wike met with Obi at the governor’s private residence in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The meeting was also attended by Ortom, Ikpeazu, and Donald Duke.
Others were the former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko; and ex-Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, among others.
