The command’s spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Odunlami-Omisanya said the suspects were arrested at their hideout in Ondo town, the headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.

She noted that the police received information that one Ariyo, a transporter in Ondo town, was registering APC members at his residence ahead of the party primaries.

She disclosed that operatives from Yaba Police Divisional Headquarters in Ondo led by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) visited the house and recovered some items from the scene.

“A jotter containing names, two exercise books with names, phone numbers of people, and two slips of a registered form were also recovered.

“The two suspects have been arrested and are assisting the police with necessary information to apprehend others involved in this cynicism.”

Odunlami-Omisanya quoted the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, as urging all political aspirants to “caution their supporters whose acts can stir the hornet’s nest in the state”.
