The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 6, 2024, for the conduct of mock accreditation in the Ondo State governorship election.

The INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, October 24.

Olumekun stated that the mock accreditation was in continuation of INEC’s preparations for the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.

Olumekun said the exercise was to test-run the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and result upload to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal for the election, using live voters in selected locations in the state.

He said the mock accreditation would take place at 12 designated Polling Units (PUs) across six local government areas covering the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.

Olumekun said the exercise would take place in Akure South and Idanre Local Government Areas in Ondo Central Senatorial District.

The INEC official noted: “In Akure South LGA, the centres are Alagbaka Primary School in Akure and Ijapo High School, also in Akure.
