The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has taken a new wife 10 months after the exit of Naomi Silekunola.
The Star learnt that the new wife, Mariam Anako, arrived at the monarch’s palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Tuesday evening.
A source said that Mariam, an oil firm executive, was ushered into the palace after some traditional rites as the customs demand.
“After the rites, she was led to the inner court where the Ooni and other guests were waiting to receive her,” a source said.

A video post on the Facebook page of the monarch’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, at about 10:30p.m. on Tuesday, showed that traditional chiefs, family members and associates of the king were in attendance when the new wife came into the palace.
Mariam’s relations also came from Ebiraland in Kogi State and Ilorin in Kwara State for the ceremony.
The arrival of the new wife is coming 10 months after the exit of Naomi, the last wife of Ooni who left Oba Ogunwusi on December 23, 2021.
The three-year marriage between the monarch and Naomi produced a son, Tadenikawo.
