After several postponements amid uncertainties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin the screening of its presidential aspirants today, Monday May 30, 2022.
The screening exercise will continue on Tuesday.
Twenty-three aspirants are billed for presidential screening.
The screening will take place at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
The governing party has fixed June 6-9 for its national convention to elect the presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
Those slated for screening are: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Senate President Ahmed Lawan; Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Ben Ayade (Cross River), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa) and Yahaya Bello (Kogi).
2023 Presidency: Buhari, APC disown Jonathan
Former Ministers Rotimi Amaechi, Ogbonaya Onu, Emeka Uwajiuba and Godswill Akpabio; detained Senator Rochas Okorocha; former Senate President Ken Nnamani, and former House of Representatives Speaker Dimeji Bankole are to screened.
Others billed for screening are Senators Ibikunle Amosun, Ajayi Boroffice;
Pastor Tunde Bakare, Uju Ken-Ohanenye, Nicholas Felix, Ahmad Rufai Sani, Tein Jack-Rich, and Ikeobasi Mokelu.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan is missing in the list.
