Scores of passengers were stranded at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano on Monday after flight operations were suspended over a dispute between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
It was gathered that flights scheduled to leave Kano on Monday morning were disrupted after the Air Traffic Controllers suspended their operations at the airport.
It was learnt that some passengers who had boarded aircrafts were asked to disembark over the development.

It was further gathered that the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) shut down air navigation services for flights in and out of the airport over power supply to NAMA facilities and staff accommodations that were disconnected.
It was learnt that FAAN, last Friday, disconnected power supply to all NAMA staff accommodations due to non-payment of electricity bills.
