Pastor Adeboye: Why I move around the world with Kunle Ajayi

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed the reasons behind his close association with the intercontinental music director of the church, Pastor Kunle Ajayi.

Ajayi is well known for playing saxophone signifying the appearance of Adeboye during sermons in the RCCG.

The music icon recently celebrated his 60th birthday in the church.

Speaking during a recent sermon in the church, Pastor Adeboye disclosed that he moves across the world with Ajayi over his loyalty to him.

The cleric disclosed that Ajayi, some years ago, rejected a $10,000 offer to play for a church in Nigeria.

He stated that the saxophonist turned down the offer after he (Ajayi) was approached by a man overseeing the church.

Adeboye: Why I don’t stop people calling ‘God of Adeboye’

Adeboye said: “Once upon a time, there was a church in Nigeria overseen by one very wealthy man and he saw this young boy that he had great talent. He told him please come and be playing for me and I will give you $10,000 per month.

“That young man said, ‘no sir, I can’t leave my father in the Lord’. $10,000 every month. Donkey years ago; that was a lot of money.

“You want to know who that boy is? Kunle Ajayi.

“When I heard that he turned down that kind of offer so that he can continue to blow his horn for someone he considered to be a father, I prayed a prayer for him because even me his father didn’t have $10,000. Oh God Almighty! Even the total income of the church wasn’t up to that amount.

“I prayed for him and I said boy, as I grow, you will grow. Some people don’t know why I go all over the world with him. He knew when to say no sir.”
