Thousands of worshippers were left stunned after a pastor disclosed how God ended almost three decades of barrenness in his marriage in a recent worship service at the Grace Nation Church International in Lagos State.
Pastor Moses Onuoha said had given up hope of ever siring children after years of hits and misses, trying everything in an attempt to have children without success.
Onuoha said his decision to visit the Grace Nation Church International after he heard how God was touching lives and giving back hope to many turned out a masterstroke of sorts.
Pastor Onuoha said he made a decision to go to the church despite initial opposition from his family members because he had a strong conviction that he would find a solution to his problem there.
The cleric said: “I got married and naturally expected that I would be blessed with children. But several years passed without any, and I was getting really worried.
“I went to different churches and tried all kinds of stuff in an attempt to end the long spell of unfruitfulness all to no avail.
“What made my case wholly unpleasant was the fact that my younger brother who got married several years after I did already had three children while I was still searching for one in vain. My brother’s kids, without knowing it, always increased my agony anytime I visited their home and they called me ‘uncle’.
Okafor to Christians: Run away from pastors converting offerings to personal use
“Then, I just decided one day, some years ago, to attend one of the services at the Grace Nation Church. I saw with my eyes how God was attending to all manner of cases, including the one that brought me there. I was convinced and told myself it would be my permanent place of worship.
“But some of my family members criticised my decision, saying the miracles that I saw happening there were fake. They didn’t just end it there. They said the founder and senior pastor of the church, Dr Chris Okafor, was an occultic man. It got so bad that one of them even came to the church premises one day to attempt to take me away. But I resisted them and stayed back.
“Soon, I got into the church’s Bible school and trained as a pastor and was posted to the Togo Republic branch of the church in Lome. Still the problem persisted. But God decided to put an end to my long years of reproach when He visited me and my wife after my father in the Lord, Dr Chris Okafor prophesied and prayed for us during one of our services last year.
“It was not long after that that my wife got pregnant. When the pregnancy was confirmed by the doctors, I marvelled at the miracle because after 27 years of marriage in which I was mocked by even those who should know better, God finally showed up.
“Today, all shame, reproach and mockery has ended with the birth of this child. I decided to come all the way from Lome to give this testimony in order to thank God as well as encourage people in similar situations to always believe that God has the answers – all the answers – to every questions of life, be it in our marriages, careers, businesses, academics, and indeed every human endeavour.
“My thanks also goes to my father, Dr Chris Okafor, for being the vessel through which God visited me and my family.”
