The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, has emerged the party’s governorship candidate for the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election in Imo State.
Anyanwu emerged the governorship candidate of the PDP after the party’s primaries held in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Wednesday, April 12.
The PDP chieftain was the sole aspirant in the primaries following the withdrawal of the former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, from the governorship race.

Anyanwu is expected to challenge the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
