Governor Nasir el-Rufai has taught the Kashim Ibrahim fellows the key concepts of governance and economy.
For nine hours, during the week, the governor held a workshop on Governance and the Economy for Class of Phoenix.
The governor took Fellows through a detailed discourse on McKinsey’s 7-S Framework, a powerful tool and model for Organisational Planning, Analysis, and Diagnosis.
Fellows also learnt about the concept of the state, the three variables that are used to analyse a State, and their relationship with public authority and society.
El-Rufai guided Fellows through the framework of Country Analysis and used it to examine the economic development of Japan and Denmark, drawing references that could be applied to the Nigerian context to aid its advancement.
At the end of the session, the governor gave Fellows take home assignments and book recommendations to further enrich their knowledge base and equip them for impact in their various MDAs and future endeavours.
El-Rufai conceived this Fellowship targeted at improving the future of Nigeria by catching young Nigerians in their formative ages and bringing them up as capable and committed young leaders who recognize the importance of public service in building the country we dream of.
The 24 fellows of the fifth cohort were selected out of 6,983 applicants that registered online.
The fifth cohort 24 Kashim Ibrahim Fellows, comprised eight persons from Kaduna State and 16 from other states of the country.
The fifth set commenced the one-year intensive leadership programme in August 2022.
