Plateau governor suspends 2 commissioners, reshuffles cabinet

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has suspended two commissioners, a Special Adviser, and a Liaison Officer.

Mutfwang announced the suspension in a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

The suspended commissioners are Chrysanthus Dawam (Budget and Economic Planning) and Jamila Tukur (Tourism, Culture and Hospitality).

Others affected by the suspension include the Special Adviser on Rural Development, Dio Lamul, and the Liaison Officer for Mikang Constituency in Plateau State, Moses Sule.

Bere noted that the suspension took immediate effect.

Plateau governor relaxes 24-hour curfew in Jos

Bere in another statement said Governor Mutfwang approved a minor resufflement of his cabinet to enhance quality service delivery.

He quoted the governor as saying that the move would ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people of Plateau State.

The governor’s spokesman stated: “Under the new dispensation, Mr Noel Nkup, the current Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, will take charge of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

“Similarly, Mr Bashir Datti, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, has been posted to the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy.”

Bere added that the new arrangement was with immediate effect.
